Our Mission
The Watan Project was created on July 2019 by our three founding members, Sulaiman, Yasamine, and Ali. We are a group of young Afghan-Americans based out of Southern California who hope to create a movement that will inspire people to create change.
We teach our youth about Afghanistan’s rich history/culture, talk about issues that plague our community, encourage activism, as well as lead by example with our humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan. Members of the Watan Project hope to inspire a movement in hopes that other young Afghans will join them in their journey to create a better Afghanistan.
Our platform will also be used to fundraise for humanitarian projects. We believe that as the next generation of Afghans it is our responsibility to help ease the pain and hardship our people face back home.
